If you work (or are looking for work) in a restaurant, cafe or bar, and want to learn the common English terms and expressions that are used in such places, these exercises are for you! They will help you to speak better English, to use proper words, and to communicate better with customers.

Many English words and expressions about food come directly from French. This is why some words about food are written with an accent (for example: à la carte).

Before starting with your own dialogues have a look at some videos about conversations at the restaurant. Pay attention to the speech of the waiter, you can see the text while listening.

From the next video you will get lot's of tips how to serve a client and what things have you pay attention to. After listening write down at least 5 tips that you want to share with the other students. Find out which tip is pointed out the most.
